📢 Update on Minimum Credit Consumption

Dear PixAI Community,

Thank you for your continued feedback and support. We’ve taken your thoughts seriously, and it’s clear that our previous announcement wasn’t as transparent as it should have been. We apologize for any confusion and would like to address this with a more detailed explanation.

Why We Fixed the 0-Credit Bug

First, we want to clarify that 0-credit generation was the result of an unintended bug rather than an intended feature. Since each generated image relies on GPU power, producing images without any credit cost effectively bypasses the GPU computing resources that enable it.

The bug also had significant implications on our system performance. For instance, 0-credit tasks consumed more than 40% of our available GPU power, slowing down image generation speeds and creating unfair queues with credit-consuming tasks. This situation led to substantial backlogs, especially for low-priority requests, making it challenging to ensure a smooth experience across all users. To resolve this and improve performance, we fixed the bug, which has since shown a substantial 54% decrease in the average waiting times for low-priority tasks.

Why the Fix Was Necessary

This fix was also a response to rising GPU costs and system load, both of which directly impact the quality and speed of image generation. As GPU resources are highly demanded, operating costs rise, especially when supporting high-quality images and faster generation speeds. Allowing high-quality images to be generated without any credit cost could severely strain our GPU resources, ultimately hindering overall system stability. In the long run, maintaining the quality and efficiency of our platform relies on sustainable resource management—requiring all generation tasks, regardless of their quality or priority, to consume some level of credit.

Moving Forward

To ensure fairness, generation tasks with minimal steps will now carry a small credit charge (starting at 200 credits), while tasks requiring higher credit costs remain unaffected. We understand that adjusting to this change can be challenging, but we’re committed to finding the best solutions to maintain a balanced system.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are dedicated to improving PixAI for everyone in our community, and your feedback is invaluable in making that happen.

With appreciation,

The PixAI Team
